UW-Madison Health & Well-Being Summit Design
THE PROJECT
UW–Madison Student Affairs, University Health Services, and the Center for Healthy Minds wanted to offer a 2-day virtual summit for students to encourage them to take care of their mental and physical health during a challenging semester - one with no spring break. Many visual assets were needed including a logo and visual identity, and assets for social media, print, and digital advertisements.
THE Challenge
The mark and colors needed to reflect the UW–Madison brand and suggest mental health and wellbeing. The design needed to work across a wide variety of platforms, from giant digital screens on campus, to print newspaper ads, to social media and website ads.
The process
Font and color choices aligned with the broader campus brand, and the circular illustration gave the impression of whole-ness or holistic wellbeing. I selected an image of a wave pattern in sand as the common background for images to portray a sense of wellbeing and calm. I curated images for each session that were geared to the 18-21 audience, and continued to use the circular theme in imagery. These images were applied across a variety of sizes and resolutions to suit the eventual platform. Finally, I created presentation title slides for each session to carry the theme through the entire summit.
